WHAT IS THE H.U.B.A. SCHOLARSHIP?

The Hollins University Black Alumnae (H.U.B.A.) scholarship is dedicated to Mary “Miss Emma” Bruce and Hazel Lawson. The H.U.B.A. scholarship provides financial support for Hollins students who identify as part of the African Diaspora and demonstrate financial need in order to pursue an internship or a semester abroad. The H.U.B.A. scholarship for study abroad may be used to cover expenses not covered by the comprehensive program fees, e.g., airfare and visa costs, etc. 
 

WHO CAN APPLY?

Applicants must be current Hollins students who:
  - Identify as part of the African Diaspora
  - Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 at the time of application (and must retain a minimum GPA of 3.0 by the start of their abroad program)
  - Demonstrate financial need (as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Assistance) Note: if you are a domestic student, you must have a current FAFSA on file with SFA in order for them to determine your financial need. Students can contact SFA@hollins.edu to confirm you have a FAFSA on file and/or receipt of your current FAFSA. If you are an international student, SFA works directly with the International Programs office to determine need.

HOW TO APPLY?

Eligible students can apply by clicking this link. Recipients of the scholarship are selected by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Assistance in conjunction with International Programs.
